Masters Squads

Train. Compete. Stay Fit. Have Fun.

Whether you're returning to the pool, training for competition, or simply swimming for fitness—RSC Masters welcomes all swimmers aged 18+ into a vibrant and supportive environment. With over 80 active members, we offer up to 6 sessions per week across various pools in Reading, giving you the flexibility to train at your own pace.

Who We Are?

Our Masters squad includes swimmers from age 18 to 65+ across a wide range of abilities. Some train for Masters Nationals and European Championships, triathlons, or open water events. Others swim for fitness, fun, or the motivation of a regular training routine.Notably, our squad includes UK’s fastest Channel swimmer (2015), National finalists, and European Top 20 competitors. But you don’t need to be elite—we welcome everyone who can swim continuously for 60 minutes and is comfortable with freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke (willingness to try butterfly a plus!).

Why Join?

A motivating, structured training programme· Friendly and social squad atmosphere· Flexible session options to fit your lifestyle· Coaching tailored to your goals—whether that’s competition, fitness, or technique improvement· A buzzing social calendar and supportive community

Choose to swim as little or as often as you like. Most Masters attend 2–3 sessions a week, but we also offer a special rate for once-a-week swimmers. Sessions are held at top-quality pools around Reading, including our home base at Rivermead Leisure Centre.
